China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, has held a press conference at the media center for the 12th National People's Congress.

Director Zhi Shuping said that this year's working report points out that China is set to take comprehensive steps in improving product quality. He said the administration has made great progress, focusing on the quality of goods, construction quality, air quality and service quality.

Zhi said the qualification rate of sample tests reached 91.6% last year. But he said high-end products still remain to be enhanced. He also pointed out that enterprises should strengthen quality management and control systems.
