Chinese fans gave Hugh Jackman a very warm welcome at the Beijing premiere of the latest X-Men movie "Logan" on Wednesday.  The Australian actor says this will be his final movie as Wolverine. Co-star Patrick Stewart joined him at the event to meet fans and talk about the film.

Having first played Wolverine for "X Men" in 2000, Hugh Jackman has reprised the role in numerous films since. He explained why he wanted to return to the troubled, clawed mutant he has embodied for 17 years.

"There was just something more that we could get out of the character. I felt there was something more complex, a little darker. And when he really became Wolverine, the berserk Wolverine, something even more feral and animalistic. When I saw this film finished, there were no regrets," Hugh Jackman said.

At the premiere Hugh Jackman said the film is about family rather than a mutant who fights for survival or fair treatment. He has created a script really about family, about father-son relationship, and a great father who wants to take care of someone he deeply respects and loves.

"This movie is really about family...Logan's not afraid of twenty people in the dark alley that he has to fight. That's easy for Logan, for Wolverine. What is hard for him is love. He has lost everyone he has ever known. He is old enough and been around enough and fought in so many battles that, for him, it is hard to get close to people," he said.

The film "Logan," the last of the Wolverine series will meet fans on March 3rd in China and North America.
