Liu, who is president of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, was speaking at the opening ceremony for the school's spring semester on Wednesday.
Refining intra-Party political culture, along with stricter governance of the Party, will address some of the pressing issues in intra-Party political life, Liu said.
In order to improve intra-Party political culture, Liu said, officials must hold high the banner of Marxist theories so that they do not stray from the correct political path. They must also draw on political wisdom that is rooted in Chinese culture and use the nation's revolutionary culture to ensure socialism advances.
To this end, officials should be exemplary role models, Liu said, urging them to adhere to values of Communist Party and socialist core values, educate their family, stay self-disciplined and guard against malpractice or corruption.
