The talks took place on the sidelines of the G20 ministerial meeting in Germany's western city of Bonn.

Wang said China and Germany, both as vital members of G20, should strengthen macro-policy coordination among the group on the basis of the G20 Hangzhou Summit in 2016.

He added that the two country should join hands in promoting global rebalancing and moving forward trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, thus to make a greater contribution to world economic growth.

Echoing Wang's remarks, Gabriel said China and Germany are both bearing the duty to safeguard open global trade, adding that Germany is willing to deepen the cooperation with China and work actively to carry forward China's Belt and Road Initiative.

He said the existing China-Europe freight train services is a concrete example of the close Chinese-German and Chinese-EU cooperation.

As 2017 marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese-German diplomatic relations, Wang also said the two countries, as all-around strategic partners, could use the successful experience during these years and draw future blueprints.
