China has issued a new set of guidelines which are designed to tackle the challenges associated with environmental and natural resource protection, as well as improving land usage efficiency.
The guidelines propose to treat land resources with distinction, and to protect, maintain and restore our natural environment. Deputy Minister of Land and Resources, Zhao Long said his department aims to curb the trend of polluting industries moving from urban to rural areas, and wants to protect a certain amount of farming land to ensure national food security.
