According to a tourism report for the first quarter of 2017, there were 15 Provinces that each collected more than 10 billion yuan (1.457 billion dollar) in tourism revenue during Spring Festival.

Guangdong topped the list with over 36.6 billion yuan (5.3436 billion dollar) in revenue following Sichuan, Hubei, Zhejiang, Shandong, and Shaanxi provinces. Sichuan province received the largest number of tourists with nearly 63.84 million.

According to the National Tourism Administration data center, there were 344 million tourists and they generated 423.3 billion yuan（61.758 billion dollar). Among them, consumers prefer the ice and snow tours and warm seaside tours, so Harbin, Sanya, Xiamen and many other popular tourist cities have successfully attract a large number of tourists.

While domestic tourism is extremely popular during the annual Spring Festival holiday, there are many tourists who choose outbound travel instead. According to the data, there were six million outbound trips this year. The most popular destinations included Thailand, Indonesia, and the United States.
