Check out these shining beautiful lanterns over 130 large and medium-sized lanterns are on display in China's southwestern city, Zigong, attracting over 200,000 visitors from across the country.

Known as the city of lanterns, these shows are an annual event for the Spring Festival holiday.

Together with modern light and technology, the lanterns shed light on traditional Chinese culture and set up a lively atmosphere for the upcoming Lunar New Year.

And some other celebrations are going on in China's northeast Liaoning province.

Colorful Spring Festival temple fairs welcome the Year of the Rooster with traditional folk performances, such as dragon dances, Chinese shadow puppetry, and sugar painting.

And how can people celebrate the new year without nice food and drinks?

In a small village in Guizhou province, over 5,000 visitors welcomed the lunar new year by experiencing the local food and customs.

Many more festivities are popping up across the country, such as singing, dancing, and fireworks as people are preparing for the Year of the Rooster in their own ways.

Needless to say, it's the best time of the year to experience traditional Chinese culture.
