Chongqing tops the list, with a GDP growth of 10.6 percent, 3.9 percentage points higher than the national average. Among the municipality's 39 industry categories, 34 of them saw an increase, including in automobiles, electronics and pharmaceuticals. GDP growth in Beijing, north China's Shanxi province and northeast China's Heilongjiang province was lower than the average. Those regions are the country's traditionally heavy industrial areas. Many of those areas are largely dependent on single industries and face industrial restructuring problems. Northeast China's Liaoning province has not yet unveiled its GDP report.
