BUENOS AIRES, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Argentine lawyer Paola de Simone hailed China's anti-corruption efforts, saying this is also a matter of great concern for the South American country.
For de Simone, an expert in international law, "all efforts against corruption must be endorsed. This is a fight being made in China and which must be deepened in our country."
China has been stepping up its anti-corruption efforts in recent years. While cracking down on corrupt officials at both higher and grassroots levels, the country has also set great store by establishing stricter and complete systems to put powers in the "cage" of regulations.
In a recent interview with Xinhua, the lawyer said: "Working against impunity and corrupt acts helps social cohesion and eventually leads to economic and social development."
"In our country, repeated polls show that public priorities concern problems such as insecurity, drug trafficking and poverty. These are all sadly linked to corruption," de Simone said.
