Kuitun, a city in China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has seen the heaviest snow of winter. About 20 centimeters of snow fell for more than 20 hours from the middle of the day on Friday to Saturday evening.

The snow is causing heavy traffic and disruptions to daily life. Heating and power supply services are working around the clock to keep people warm. Motorists are advised to drive more carefully due to the treacherous road conditions.
