The Chinese Foreign Ministry has reiterated its stance that countries should reduce their nuclear arsenal. Foreign ministry's spokesperson Hua Chunying made the comment when asked at a routine press conference about China's reaction towards US president-elect Trump's recent remarks saying he would greatly strengthen that country's nuclear capabilities.
"China has been consistently advocating the call to completely ban and destroy nuclear weapons. Countries with the largest nuclear weapon stocks shoulder the responsibility and priority to continuously and significantly cut down their nuclear weapons, to create conditions for realising the comprehensive nuclear disarmament target," Hua said.
