The China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing says China's logistics sector saw moderate growth in the first 11 months of this year.
The total logistics volume in the period reached 208.8 trillion yuan. That was up 6.2 percent from a year ago. Consumption-related logistics jumped nearly 44 percent year on year. Logistics demand for industrial products dropped slightly overall, but logistics demand for such commodities as steel and coal showed signs of recovery.
"Some important materials, such as steel, non-ferrous metals and construction materials, their logistics demand has been recovering. That reflects that the current economy is gradually turning to a better direction, or keeps improving," said He Hui, Deputy Director of China Logistics Information Center.
