New Zealand's new Prime Minister, Bill English, has unveiled his cabinet reshuffle, his first major political move since taking office less than a week ago. The new line-up sees Paula Bennett as deputy prime minister, who is also holds five other cabinet posts -- women's affairs, tourism, police, climate change and state services.

Steven Joyce now takes the reigns at the finance and infrastructure ministries. Transport minister Simon Bridges has also been put in charge of economic development department. No change though for long-serving Foreign Minister, Murray McCully, who will remain in that post until his retirement in May next year.

"The cabinet I'm announcing today blends the experience and talent of the cabinets that have done such a good job over the past eight years with public support tested through several elections and blending that with the new talent and energy of Nationals back-bench MP's," said Bill English.
