China has vowed to curb its real estate bubble in 2017. This is according to a statement issued Friday after the Central Economic Work Conference.
The conference is an annual meeting by the country's most important political figures to set the national agenda for China's economy. For next year, a stable and healthy development of real estate market tops the agenda. The statement said "Houses are built to be inhabited, not for speculation".
The government will use land, investment, lawmaking, fiscal and taxation, and financial instruments to achieve its aim.
