At least seven people have been killed in a renewed attack by rebels in Aleppo.
The country's state news agency reported that rebels fired mortar shells on Wednesday, striking recently-captured Bustan al-Qaser and three other neighborhoods.
In video footage released by Beirut-based channel Al Mayadeen, plumes of smoke are seen rising above east Aleppo. The reported attack comes just hours after an evacuation plan brokered by Russia and Turkey went into effect.
Local media outlets accused rebel fighters of breaching the truce and attempting to attack military posts. They added that the Syrian army fired back in response to the rebel attack.
