Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said China and Switzerland should work together to promote and defend the global free-trade system.
Wang met his counterpart Didier Burkhalter in Geneva, and highlighted the benefits of open economy and free trade. He said both sides have enjoyed promising growth after setting up a bilateral free-trade agreement two years ago. And an upgrade of the agreement should come under consideration.
China is currently Switzerland's biggest trading partner in Asia, and Wang said both countries should be stable economic forces.
