In their last time out, Real's unbeaten run nearly came to an end at Barcelona, but a trademark late header from Sergio Ramos salvaged a 1-1 draw. Now back at home, Los Blancos would once again be saved by their captain who repeated his heroics to escape an embarrassing draw against the underdogs Deportivo.

In the 50th minute, Alvaro Morata scores a spectacular long-range effort to put the hosts in front allowing their fans to breathe a sigh of relief.

But from the 63rd minute, former Real man Joselu strikes twice in the space of two minutes to give Deportivo a 2-1 lead at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos coach Zinedine Zidane puts on Mariano Diaz to increase the pressure up front and the youngster scores his first league goal in the 83rd to tie it at 2-2.

And once again, Ramos has the final say. In the second minute of stoppage time, the Real captain heads the hosts back in front as the center back makes up for the slack defending that allowed the visitors two quick goals and the hosts wi 3-2 to extend their club record unbeaten run ot 35 games.

In other matches on Saturday, Barcelona kept the pressure on Real with a 3-0 victory at Osasuna in which Lionel Messi scored a brace and now leads Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo as the league's top scorer with 11. Valencia fell to Real Sociedad 3-2 and dropped to 17th place, ahead of the relegation zone only by goal difference.

In the standings, Los Blancos retained their six-point edge over Barca after the comeback against Deportivo. Sevilla are third with 27 points, followed by Real Sociedad on 26. Atletico Madrid sit fifth with 25 points but have a game in hand.
