ITTF World Tour: Olympic champion booked one berth in semi-finals

China's olympic champion Ma Long defeated Chinese Hong Kong's Wong Chun Ting in the second round of ITTF World Tour Grand Finals.  Then world number one booked one berth in semi-finals.

Ma has been at the top of the international table tennis scene since being crowned world champion in 2015 and is able to continue that trend here in a dominated display. The Olympic champion cruises to a four-nil win to advance to the semis.

World No. 2 gets one place in top eight

Elsewhere Fan Zhendong is taking on the Japanese second seed Niwa Kok. Its been a good year for the 19-year-old who has won the China open and world cup in the past 12 months
and the Chinese taking control early on, winning the first three sets. Fan then has the chance to book his place in the last four but gives his opponent a way back into the contest with this careless smash. He recieves some stern words from his coach, hop you enjoyed that, before eventually taking the fifth with relative ease.

World No. 3 claims one place in semi-finals

On the women's side Zhu Yuling is up against Chinese Taipe's Zheng Yijing. The two-time winner of the world junior championship Zhu is circumbed to some fierce attacking play early on and loses the first two sets.

But after speaking with her coach for some words of inspiration, see told you that happened, the 21-year-old is able to find her rythem to mount a comeback thanks to some a fantastic offensive display and eventually win the contest 4-2 and claim a place in the semi-finals.

Defending champion Ding Ning planned to compete in the second round with Germany's Han Ying. But Ding withdrew from the game because of high fever.
