The average price of consumer goods in China rose 2.3 percent in November from the same month last year.
The National Bureau of Statistics says the figure is about a tenth of a percentage point higher than the October reading. Food prices rose by four percent. The consumer price index or CPI is the main gauge for inflation.
The bureau says consumer prices have risen by an average of two percent year-on-year in the past 11 months. The producer price index or PPI, which measures the cost of goods at the factory gate, continued to increase by 3.3 percent in November.
