China's new standard online map service has been put into use. The service went live last month on the website of the National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation. It includes 83 Chinese maps, 51 world maps and 13 thematic maps.

Users can look through and download these standard maps for free. The online system also features a self-help mapping function, as people are able to make maps according to their own needs.
