Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi's resignation after Sunday's referendum raises questions about the country's political and economic future.
In an interview with CCTV's Lin Nan a few days before the referendum, former Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi shared his opinion on the direction Europe is taking.

Prodi said, "There is a general movement in the direction that populism party, or let's call it non-tradition party, anti-system parties, not only in Europe."
"I do think that this is a problem that will exist. The crisis is not over, the problem of young generation difficulties still work in many European countries. So I think that whether we tackle these problems, the unexpected results of presidential election will go on."
