The New York Knicks are starting to find their groove. Plenty was expected by their fans, as they brought in former MVP Derrick Rose and one-time defensive player-of-the-year Joakim Noah, to pair with All-Star Carmelo Anthony.

NBA: New York 106 - Sacramento 98

Things started off slowly in the Big Apple, but Melo and company are now playing much better, and could grab their eighth win in 11 games as they hosted the Sacramento Kings.

Early on, it's Demarcus Cousins with the rock for the visitors, and he puts up the unorthodox jumper that falls. Boogie thinks he was fouled.

Sactown would have a 6-point edge early, but Derrick Rose cuts into that, slicing into the lane and then faking before getting the hoop. 20 for D-Rose.

The Knickerbockers would go on an 18-4 run to blow things wide open, Kristaps Porzingis highlighting the surge with the reverse jam. 15 for the "Lativian gang-banger."

Team NYC would open up an 18-point lead in the second, thanks to the Carmelo triple. He also finishes with 20.

The Kings go on a run of their own, Boogie travelling, and no call, so he dishes to Willie Cauley-Stein who also walks, no call, he is rejected by Porzingis, but gets the putback.

Second half now, and K-P-6 gets the better of Cauley-Stein, shaking and baking off top and getting the runner oft the glass. Lead is back up to 20.

Sacramento would reel off 18 straight points in the third, and pull to within one, as Boogie finds W-K-C underneath for the throwdown.

The team from the New York would stay in front, and have an 8-point edge, when Cousins again gets into the paint. The gazelle-like finish, and the foul. 36 and 12 for him.

But inside the final minute, Melo would seal things for the hosts -- getting the off-balance runner. Knicks win it by 8.

In other action -- Indy was able to get past the Clippers 111-102. Orlando edged past Detroit 98-92. And Russell Westbrook managed his fifth straight triple-double, managing 28 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists in OKC's win over New Orleans.
