Pakistan's new army head -- General Qamar Javed Bajwa -- has received the baton of command in the garrison town of Rawalpindi. He succeeds General Raheel Sharif, who steps down after completing his three-year term.
The country's defense ministry earlier said there will be no immediate shift in Pakistan's military policy under the new army chief.
The exchange of command takes place as tensions rise with India over disputed Kashmir, and as ties with Afghanistan remained rocky.
