DPRK state media have reported that the country’s leader Kim Jong Un observed and guided ski combat drills by a mountain warfare infantry subordinate of the Korean People's Army.

Kim Jong Un pointed out that the army needs to decisively bolster up their capabilities to overcome mountains, speed up the march and carry out assault and maneuver activities in the field.

South Korea’s Yonhap news agency said the visit marked Kim Jong Un’s seventh inspection of military units or training sessions this month out of his total eight public appearances.

A day earlier, Kim Jong Un inspected the headquarters of the large combined “Unit 3-8-0 of the Korean People’s Army.”

The DPRK’s state news agency also said the leader visited a relic celebrating the visit made by the country’s late leader Kim Jong Il, and praised the unit for being fully prepared for modern warfare. The state media did not specify the date of the inspection.
