In the capital Athens there's a rather literal interpretation of 'fast food' - as a number of the city's food companies are equipping their delivery personnel with roller skates. Employers say it's a cheap way of delivering food to their customers fast and it also gives youngsters and skating enthusiasts an opportunity to earn money.

The bright side of Athens. Young people on roller skates in the center of the Greek capital. The positive energy of youths who take advantage of their hobby to earn money.

They deliver food and coffees on roller skates and they get paid.

"It is fun. I enjoy the fact that I do my hobby and get paid. I found the job through Facebook and even though I work at an office as well, I prefer this one," A Athens resident said.

Anastasia is 24 years old. She has been an athlete. Now, as a student she uses her roller skates and earn money for her studies.

"I really enjoy it. A friend of mine let me knew on the job and I am happy to do it," A student from Anastasia said.

Ilias has thought that this is an idea to send what his clients want more quickly.

Besides, this is a cheaper way since to deliver the orders on a motorbike would be much more expensive having the price of oil.

"The crisis brought opportunities. We thought that this is a way to deliver food quickly, in a cheaper way for us, but also offers job to young people," Street Souvlaki owner Ilias Gionis said.

"I also dance, but I love so much roller skates. So I like to be paid because I am on roller skates all the day," A Athens resident said.

Since the eruption of the financial crisis in 2008, Greece suffers of brain drain. The Greek economy has lost 50 billion euros from scientists and professionals who left Greece to seek work abroad since the onset of the economic crisis, a study says. However, these people took advantage of the opportunity to use their roller skates.

Unemployment has been higher than 23% with austerity measures keeping harming greek families.
