Turn to the KHL as Kunlun Red Star travelled to Kazakhstan to take on Barys Astana. The Chinese based team Kunlun have been doing pretty well in their debut season in the Russian league and came into Wednesday's contest in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

Astana are also in the east and currently sit in eighth place in the standings. Less than three minutes into the first period, Nikita Ivanov rifles a slapshot past Andrey Makarov for a 1-0 lead.

And just two minutes later they add a second through Cam Barker on a power play.

Midwway through the second period, Damien Fleury pulls one back for Red Star and it;s a 2-1 game.

But in the third, Nigel Dawes scores for Astana and then Roman Starchenko wraps up a comfortable home win as Astana prevail 4-1.
