Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent his condolences to the families of the victims of the recent train accident in India. Xi sent his sympathies through his Indian counterpart, Pranab Mukher-jee.
150 people were killed and more than 200 others injured when the train, travelling in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, derailed early on Sunday. Railway officials, who had carried out inspections two days before the incident, said the track was in good condition.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
