Full coverage: Xi Visits Ecuador, Peru and Chile, Attends APEC Summit

A number of things have been achieved during President Xi's visit to Chile. Both sides raised bilateral ties to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, and decided to start negotiations on expanding the Free Trade Agreement into areas including health services, bio-technology and tourism.

Chilean president Michelle Bachelet said she would like to see her country join the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank at the earliest possible opportunity. 12 deals covering areas of agriculture, astronomy and culture were also signed. China and Chile also planned to intensify media cooperation to show the world more images of China and Latin America.
