In Iraq, the government has delivered six trucks laden with food and water for the residents of Mosul. According to the government, the aid was distributed in some recently-liberated areas in the eastern part of the city which has endured poor living conditions while under the Islamic State's control.
Meanwhile, Iraqi Shia paramilitary groups are close to cutting an important supply route for ISIL in the Tal Afar region, west of Mosul. Authorities say it would isolate their last stronghold in the city, which is already surrounded by government forces from the north, south and east.
