China's total social logistics cost from January to October this year reached 8.6 trillion yuan, up 3.3 percent year on year. Growth dropped by 0.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
In October, logistics service prices picked up, with both road transport and sea shipping jumping by a large margin. The total social logistics amount reached 187.2 trillion yuan during the first ten months of this year, up 6.1 percent year on year.
"In terms of logistics price, it's rising a little fast. This is not good for market stability. In addition, the fast rising prices will also elevate the cost on the demand side. As for the overall logistics during the first ten months, the demands are rising stably. And the social logistics are also seeing operational efficiency go up," said He Hui, deputy director of China Logistics Information Center.
