In Syria, insurgents say air strikes have damaged hospitals in areas they control in eastern Aleppo. The insurgents issued a statement saying all hospitals in eastern Aleppo were out of service, leaving besieged people without any health facilities.
However, the Britain-based war monitor Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said some hospitals were still operating, but residents were too afraid to use them because of heavy shelling.
Intense air strikes have battered eastern Aleppo since Tuesday, when the Syrian army and its allies resumed operations there after a pause lasting weeks.
