Fans of snowboarding will be glad to hear the Air & Style show is back in Beijing. The Chinese capital will play host to the snowboarding gathering for the seventh straight year.
The event will start tonight, but the organizers held a press conference to give details on the contest, which will once again be staged at the National Stadium. 30 of the world's top snowboarders will be competing, including defending champion Max Parrot and American Kyle Mack, are among the stars making appearances this year.
The latest edition of the event has been pushed up, due to a cold snap in this part of the world. Organizers use man-made snow to build a big air platform, which is 18.7 meters high, and 136.8 meters long. Several notable singers are also expected to be performing at the Bird's Nest. Beijing is the first stop of the 2016-17 season, and will be followed by contests in Innsbruck and Los Angeles in February.
