President Xi published an article in Peru's leading newspaper, El Comercio, under the title "Accomplish the Dream of a Century and Make Progress on Cooperation" ahead of his state visit to Peru.

In the article, President Xi said China and Peru have enjoyed a long relationship. Peru was the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic ties with China.

Xi said cultural exchanges are active between both countries, and both sides regularly share ideas about regional and international affairs. 

He stressed Chinese and Peruvian people share similar goals. As Chinese work toward rejuvinating the Chinese nation, Peruvians prepare to celebrate 200 years of independence and also pursue their own goal of building a better Peru. 

Xi said he believes both countries should deepen cooperation and strengthen mutual political trust, in order to promote world peace, stability and prosperity.
