The Maritime Silk Road music festival has come to an end in Ningbo of East China's Zhejiang Province. The festival hopes to become a leading event in the music industry such as the Midem festival in France, which includes not only performances, but training programs, forums, exhibitions, and a whole lot of tourism.
The Maritime Silk Road music festival brought together local musicians as well as artists and bands from more than 10 countries along the Maritime Silk Road such as Japan, Thailand, India and South Africa. A singing contest, a theme song, as well as a musical documentary were also part of the four-day event. Ningbo is one of the starting points of the Maritime Silk Road. As early as 2,000 years ago, the Maritime Silk Road started from China's southeast coastal regions, traversing a vast expanse of oceans and seas to reach countries in Southeast Asia, Africa and Europe.
