First up is football and China's men's national team are preparing in Kunming for their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Qatar on Tuesday.

Today the squad will head to the Tuodong Stadium, where the match will be held, to get familiar with the pitch. The game will be the official debut for new coach Marcello Lippi who took charge last month.

The Italian will guide the PRC through their six remaining qualifying matches, but their chances of reaching Russia are remote.

The training on Sunday was open to the media for 15 minutes, and with just two days to go until the big match, Lippi spent a fair bit of time talking to his assistant coach, Maddaloni Massimiliano, who, if you couldn't guess, is also Italian.

Lippi said after watching video of Qatar, he thinks there isn't much to separate the two teams, but China needs to learn how to play together as a unit. He hopes the national team can pull off a miracle, but if they can't, they at least need to learn lessons for the future.

Lippi also said that there would be six or seven players from Evergrande in the starting lineup because they played together for many years and cooperated well which will be key to beating Qatar.
