Lewis Hamilton is making a last ditch effort to hold onto his world title. The Brit is 19 points behind overall leader and teammate Nico Rosberg in the standings with two races to go. The Mercedes man needs to win both races, and hope the German falters. So grabbing the pole for the Brazilian grand prix will help Hamilton's cause.

Felipe Massa getting some love from the crowd, the Brazilian retiring at the end of the year, and this will be his last race on home soil.

We are on board with Kimi Raikkonen and the Finn would get a good lap on the Interlagos track -- and the Ferrari driver will start third on Sunday.

He would finish just ahead of Max Verstappen, the young red Bull driver was once again near the top of the time-sheets, and will be fourth on the grid.

Lewis Hamilton who has won the last two poles, and subsequent races in the U-S and Mexico would lay down a marker and was the man to beat -- much to the delight of Niki Lauda and Toto Wolff at Mercedes.

Rosberg had a chance to overtake his teammate for the top spot -- but ends up about a tenth-of-a second off the pace, and will start second.

So Hamilton has the inside lane for Sunday's race.

So the Brit must win and hope that Rosberg does not get on the podium, otherwise the German will claim his first ever world title. Will make for an interesting race at Interlagos.
