Astronauts Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong are currently on their one-month mission on board the Tiangong-2 space lab.
Jing Haipeng is the commander of the mission. This is his third time to go to space after also joining the Shenzhou-7 mission in 2008 and Shenzhou-9 in 2012. Born in 1966, Jing became part of China’s first group of astronauts in 1998.
The other crew member is Chen Dong. The 38-year-old is an ex-fighter pilot. He joined the astronaut training program in 2010. After six years of tough and systematic training, he is finally on his first mission to space.
