The Sichuan Blue Whales have bolsetered their roster as they seek to defend their CBA title. The champs have signed free-agent Josh Smith from the NBA who is now coming to China in a bid to revive his career.
It was reported that Smith rebuffed an offer from the CBA over the summer in favor of staying in the US. Smith last played for the Houston Rockets and split the 2015-16 season between Houston and the Los Angeles Clippers, averaging career lows of 6.0 points and 3.5 rebounds.
The 30 year old Smith, still relatively young, has the skills to be a dominant figure in China and could be an NBA countributor if he can get out of his own way.
