South Korea's ruling and opposition parties are divided over President Park Geun-hye's national address which she made on Friday.
Park apologized once again for the ongoing scandal, which involves her friend Choi Soon-sil. The president's associate and friend has been accused of fraud and meddling in state affairs.
The ruling Saenuri Party said the address showed Park's determination for establishing the truth, while the main opposition party, Minjoo, denounced it as an "individual letter of apology".
Park has added that she is open to cooperating with prosecutors in their investigation. The prosecutors, however, said there is no definite probe plan yet against the president.
Meanwhile, the Blue House - South Korea's executive office - said Park had partly transferred her duties to Kim Byong-joon, a nominee for South Korea's Prime Minister post. Park's approval rating tumbled to 5 percent this week, lower than any other predecessor.
