Tokyo should respect China’s sovereignty and jurisdiction, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said in reply to a question on Japan’s protests of China’s legal activities in the East China Sea.
“Regarding this kind of question, we have clarified our stance repeatedly. China’s gas and oil related activities in the East China Sea are all located in indisputable areas controlled by China,” Hua said.
“We hope Japan can respect China’s rights of sovereignty and its jurisdiction, and avoid irresponsible remarks on China’s legal activities.”
