South Korea’s currency and stock markets fell Monday on the back of worries over a political crisis in the country.
The South Korean won dipped 0.1 percent against the U.S. dollar at one point while the Kospi slid 0.4 percent.
Opinion polls show that President Park Geun-hye’s support plunged to an all-time low last week, and five of her aides, including her chief of staff, have resigned.
Analysts say external uncertainties, including the U.S. presidential election, have also intensified the market volatility.
