Much of northern China woke up on Saturday morning to temperatures that had dropped below freezing. And the National Meteorological Center says this cold snap is likely to continue over the weekend with most northern regions seeing further temperature drops.
Meanwhile, the southern half has not escaped the early winter setting either, but much of the region also is forecast to receive heavy downpours. Indeed, some areas of Sichuan and Taiwan are expecting thunderstorms with precipitation of about 60 millimeters.
