Full coverage: The Sixth Plenum of the 18th CPC Central Committee

The sixth plenum of the 18th Communist Party of China Central Committee dropped its curtain on Thursday. A press conference with high-ranking officials was held on Friday afternoon to recap and go over the meeting's resulting communique. The document describes Xi Jinping as the Party's "core", to further consolidate the top leadership and better lead the country forward. It also outlines the future of the Party's development, passing regulations to strengthen Party discipline.

Agreements were reached in continuing the nationwide anti-corruption campaign. During Friday afternoon's press conference, officials talked about the significance of strengthening Party discipline.

"President Xi Jinping's speech draws up an important plan to strengthen and regulate the political life within the Party, and consolidate Inner-Party supervision. It makes specific requirements on better jobs in various fields in the Party and the country, and proposes innovative new thoughts, ideas and conclusions. It is the scientific guide and the Program of Action for us to have a new and comprehensive state of being strict in Party discipline, and advance the various causes in the Party and the country," said Huang Kunming from Publicity Department, CPC.
