Tech giant Samsung has acknowledged that the probe into battery explosions of its flagship smartphone, Galaxy Note 7, may extend to other elements of the device.

In September, the company announced a recall of 2 point 5 million handsets and completely shutdown production. The recall fiasco has hit the company's reputation hard, with third-quarter operating profits nosediving 30 percent compared to last year.
