With the U.S. presidential vote just two weeks away, tourists in Washington, D.C. are rushing to buy last-minute election souvenirs.
Enthusiasm for the quirky knick-knacks was high but many shoppers said they were still eager to see the race come to an end on November 8th.
Business has spiked over the past few weeks as Americans flock to buy souvenirs of the two presidential candidates. Despite high enthusiasm for the trinkets, the shoppers say their patience concerning the election spectacle is wearing thin.
"Oh, it has been quite the circus, unfortunately. And it's quite embarrassing for Americans to be witnessing such things." A touurist froom California Lisa Osterdock said.
The store's most popular election items include Clinton's "I'm With Her" tee-shirts and buttons and Trump's "Make America Great Again" hats.
"Well I'm waiting for it, because I'm excited to see who's going to win -- you never know." A tourist from Cuba Alberto Orellana said.
A tourist from the Czech Republic said she watched all three presidential debates and was looking forward to the election results.
"It's interesting to see how the population of Americans abroad is also divided. People that we're friends with that we would have never said that they will be so emotional about this election, they are really split as well, just like your country is here." A tourist from Czech Republic Agnieszka Widmann said.
The store owner said souvenirs of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton are outselling those of Republican rival Donald Trump. The owner said he noticed a drop off in Trump merchandise sales after the emergence of a video showing the candidate's crude comments about women.
