Full coverage: 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Red Army's Long March

2016 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Long March, which was a two year tactical retreat by the Chinese Red Army from Kuomingtang forces during the 1930's. In order to remember its history and carry forward the revolutionary tradition, a symphonic peotry recital has been held in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province.

The poetry recital is divided into three chapters, namely, "Long March Memory", "Long March in Henan" and "Long March Heritage." Seventeen works of classic poetry and contemporary original poetry are presented on stage. In order to ensure a high standard of performance, the director of the show commissioned some of the best composers in Beijing and Guangzhou to create original music for the recital.

In this show, established artists such as Zhang Jiasheng, Wen Yujuan, Zang Jinsheng and Yu Tongyun are invited to perform.  The event is held by the Henan Provincial Committee of the CPC, the "Henan Press, Publication, Radio and Television Bureau" and the Henan Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
