China's National Bureau of Statistics released its monthly survey on home price in 70 major cities. And in an unusual table posted on its website, the statistics office compared price growth in the current month with that in September.
-- Housing sales cooled down in October. Data from the National Bureau of Statistics suggests home price growth in 15 key cities slowed down in the first half of October compared to the same period in September . Shenzhen and Chengdu even dipped into negative territory.
-- The inflection is due to the curbs issued recently by local governments in the beginning of October. But before that, in September, China's housing markets continued to expand. Among all the 70 major cities surveyed by the statistics office, housing prices increase in 64 cities in september versus 62 citis in August, while the number of cities that saw price decreases remained unchanged.
-- Among the 70 cities, Hefei in Anhui Province tops the list with an on-year growth rate close to 50 percent. Xiamen followed in the second place. Shanghai and Beijing increased about 30 percent.
