Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has met with Uruguayan President Tabare Vazquez at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Li said Uruguay is a good friend and partner, adding that China wants to improve their bilateral relations with a special focus on trade and investment, infrastructure, and energy. He added that their study into the feasibility of free-trade negotiations shows there is an appetite to protect free trade globally.
Meanwhile, Vazquez said his country welcomed Chinese investment in all fields and expects free-trade negotiations to begin soon.
