Two astronauts, namely Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong, will take part in the Shenzhou-11 manned space flight mission. This is the second mission with two crew members after Shenzhou-6, which took a 5-day trip in 2005.

But this time, the mission will last for 33 days, with dozens of tasks such as aerospace science and in orbit space medicine experiments to be completed. So the division of work seems to be significant.

Jing Haipeng is the commander of the mission, and is in charge of driving, docking, flying plan management and security. Chen Dong will take care of equipment maintenance, consumables management and the experiments. But Jing Haipeng said their roles involve more cooperation than just being a commander and staff.

"You can say there is or there is not a division of work. Why? Because every operation we do, including the driving, docking and experiments, is based on cooperation between us. Of course, one of us has to take charge, and I would be the so-called commander. On the basis of common judgement, I will give the orders, and finish the report. But I believe it's more a case of close collaboration," Jing said.

"As the commander of this mission, he takes more responsibility and pressure. Because he is in charge of the full operation, and has to make rapid decisions in any emergency. I think it's too much pressure for him. So I will try my best to help him and share his burden. Of course I have my own job. As a team, we will have more cooperation and complement each other to complete the mission," Chen said.
