At the BRICS Summit in the western Indian state of Goa, Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged his fellow member countries to advance structural reform, find ways to innovate and build an open and inclusive economy.

He warned against all forms of protectionism, and called for a greater representation of emerging-market economies. Meanwhile, President Xi also announced that China will host the ninth BRICS summit in the south-eastern city of Xiamen next September.
